Western Bulk Herbs – Goldenseal Root Powder
Goldenseal provides powerful tonic qualities to the mucous membranes throughout the body. Helping with all digestive problems, it functions as a bitter helping to stimulate the appetite and relieves gastritis and colitis. Avoid during pregnancy, as this herb can stimulate involuntary muscles. However, this quality also makes goldenseal useful during childbirth. Goldenseal is known for being of general benefit to the body and for boosting the immune system’s capabilities. This herb combines well with meadowsweet and chamomile to relieve stomach conditions. When used with witch hazel, it can be used as a wash to relieve irritation and itching. Combine with mullein for effective ear drops.
