Western Bulk Herbs – Red Clover

Red clover is used to treat skin conditions such as skin wounds and conditions like psoriasis. Using red clover may reduce cholesterol and severity of hot flashes during menopause. Studies being done now show it may reduce the risk of heart disease. It is also used to loosen phlegm and make it easier to cough.

These are the whole flowers of the meadow clover plant. They come in a range of red and purple colors in the wild, however ours tend to be a little more on the red side. A great addition to flavorful teas as well as a medicinal component in itself.

This herb is relatively common in the regions of Europe, western Asia and northern Africa. Fields of these flowers will dot the landscape in red and purple polka-dots on a carpet of emerald green. A fantastic herb for wildcrafting.
