Chinese Bulk Herbs – Perilla Leaf (Zi Su Ye)
Perilla leaf is used for common cold with fever, an aversion to cold, headache, cough, and stuffy nose. It can also be used for vomiting and tightness in the chest, and morning sickness. If you’re poisoned by fish or crab with abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, a dose of Zi Su Ye will take care of the problem.
Clinical Use (Chinese):
Induces diaphoresis, expels Cold and Wind, removes Dampness, and alleviates pain.

Pungent in flavor, warm in property, acts on the Lung and Spleen channels.
Cautions:
Not to be decocted in water over a long period of time. Use a fast extract method by boiling the herb over a short time.
