Chinese Bulk Herbs – Mugwort Artemisia (Ai Ye)

Mugwort Artemisia, also known as Ai Ye, expels coldness by warming all of the meridians. This effect is especially pronounced in the uterus and relieves cramps as well as prevents miscarriage. The warming effect is also noticeable in the lungs, where it repels cold phlegm.

Clinical Use (Chinese):
Ai ye dispels cold and warms the blood, the qi, and the meridians in order to stop bleeding. This warming action in the meridians can help to dispel cold and dissapate dampness, as well as alleviate pain and regulate menstruation.  Ai ye is fragrant and warming to the meridians and vessels.
