Chinese Bulk Herbs – Burdock Seed (Niu Bang Zi)
Burdock Seed, also known as Niu Bang, is effective against skin diseases such as mumps, measels, boils and carbuncles. Niu bang zi is also helpful in clearing up symptoms of sore throat.
Clinical Use (Chinese):
Niu bang zhi is a dispersing herb which plays more of a supporting role with other herbs in this effect. It is good at clearing the throat. Niu bang zi clears toxic heat, doesn’t congeal, subdues inflammation, and heals the throat. This herb can release exterior wind-heat and clear toxic heat.
