Chinese Bulk Herbs – Cynomorium (Suo Yang)

Suo Yang, also known as Cynomorium,  is used to moisten the intestines to help with bowel movements. It also is used to strengthen the blood and treat impotence in men and lack of libido and infertility in women.

Clinical Use (Chinese):
Tonifies the Kidney and strengthens the Yang, moistens the Intestine to ease bowel movement.

Latin Name:
Cynomorium songaricum
Cynomorium coccineum

Chinese Name:
Suo Yang

Common Names:
Cynomorium, Maltese fungus, Maltese mushroom, desert thumb, red thumb, tarthuth, suoyang

Parts Used:
Aerial portion

Properties:
Sweet in flavor, warm in property, acts on the Liver, Kidney, and Large Intestine channels.

Cautions:
Should not use if you have diarrhea or have constipation problems.
