Dendrobium or Shi Hu is an orchid that is made into a tonic for longevity. It makes a great adaptive energy tonic to replace spent energy and replace fluids. It may be used with licorice root to provide healing energy. It is widely used by the Chinese from all walks of life from hermits to the elite.

Clinical Use (Chinese):
Nourishes the Stomach and promotes the production of Fluids, replenishes Yin, and clears Heat.

Dendrobium nobile

Shi Hu

Common Names:
Dendrobium, noble dendrobium

Parts Used:
Stems are cut into segments and used unprepared.

Properties:
Sweet in flavor, slightly cold in property, acts on the Stomach and Kidney channels.
