Chinese Bulk Herbs – Dianthus (Qu Mai)
Dianthus or Qu Mai is used to treat gonorrhea. It can also induce diuresis in order to treat stranguria, activate the blood, and induce menstruation.
This herb naturally grows in high altitudes but is a popular garden plant in some regions of the world. The aerial portions of the plant, the cleaned and dried stem and flower, are harvested and collected to make this herbal ingredient.
Clinical Use (Chinese):
Bitter in taste, cold in property, acts on the Heart, Small Intestine, and Bladder channels.
