Dragons Blood or Xue Jie dispels blood stasis (inactivity), relieves pain from a traumatic injury. It’s very good for stopping external bleeding and will protect the flesh from decay. That means it helps heal the injury by generating flesh. Works well on chronic sores.

Clinical Use (Chinese):
Used externally to stop bleeding and promote tissue regeneration. Used internally to promote blood circulation to resolve Blood Stasis and relieve pain.

Calamus draco

Xue Jie

Common Names:
Dragon’s Blood, Calamus Gum, Blume, dragon’s blood palm

Parts Used:
Red resin (Xue Jie is a tree resin that has been used as a medicine, incense, and dye since ancient times.)

Properties:
Sweet and salty in flavor, neutral in property, acts on the Heart and Liver channels.
