Chinese Bulk Herbs – Poria (Fu Ling)
If you’re suffering from poor appetite, fatigue, diarrhea or bloating, Poria is used to treat fluid and phlegm congestion due to poor metabolism. It also helps with scanty urine, palpitation, insomnia, headaches, dizziness, and forgetfulness.
Poria has been used in the past for coughs and asthma, anxiety, and related insomnia. In chinese formulas, it is an accompanying herb to many remedies, much like Rehmannia.
Clinical Use (Chinese):
Promotes urination and leaches the dampness out. Strengthens spleen and harmonizes middle burner. Strengthens spleen and transforms phlegm; quiets heart and calms the spirit.

Fu Ling, Hoelen
Common Names:
tuckahoe, China root, matsuhodo
Parts Used:
Sclerotium (Fungus attach to a specific pine tree)
Properties:
Neutral, sweet, bland.
Cautions:
Do not use if you have cold symptoms or excessive urination.
