Chinese Bulk Herbs – Sanguisorba (Di Yu)

Sanguisorba root or Di Yu is used in the treatment of many skin conditions including eczema, burns, and skin ulcers. It can also be used for bleeding conditions such as dysentery with blood in it, hemorrhoids with bleeding, and menorrhagia (abnormally heavy bleeding at menstruation). The leaves and stems may be used for diarrhea and dysentery.

Clinical Use (Chinese):
Sanguisorba is associated with the Liver, Large Intestine, and Stomach meridians. Its main uses are to stop bleeding and promote healing.

Sanguisorbae, Burnet-Bloodwort Root, great burnet
