Chinese Bulk Herbs – Saussurea (Mu Xiang)
Chinese Bulk Herbs Saussurea, also known as Mu Xiang, relieves abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and lack of appetite by promoting circulation of stomach qi and the spleen. The herb works on circulating the liver and gallbladder qi and helps to regulate them as well. Saussurea also helps to move stagnant qi in the intestines.
Clinical use (Chinese):
Mu Xiang promotes the flow of qi in the stomach, spleen, large intestines and gallbladder. By moving qi in the stomach and spleen, mu xiang helps relieve pain and gastric disorders. The large intestine qi movement can help with constipation, but also tenesmus. Mu xian helps regulate the middle meridian and move qi throughout the body.

Properties:
Carminative, digestive, antispasmodic. Warm, acrid, bitter. Affects the spleen, lung, gallbladder, liver, stomach, and large intestine.
Traditional Uses:
One of the 50 fundamental herbs in Chinese medicine, the root is used both in medicine and as an incense.
Topical Uses / Applications:
Mu Xiang is not used topically.
