Chinese Bulk Herbs – Schisandra (Wu Wei Zi)

Schisandra or Wa Wei Zi has always been used for the treatment of asthma with a cough, and shallow breathing. It can also help with frequent urination, early morning diarrhea, spontaneous sweating, and night sweats. It has been used for insomnia, diabetes syndrome, and palpitation.

Clinical Use (Chinese):
Restrain leakage of lung qi, enriches kidney yin – chronic cough and wheezing due to kidney and lung deficiency.
Tonify the kidneys, bind the essence, stop diarrhea – nocturnal emission, spermatorrhea, leukorrhea, frequent urination, daybreak diarrhea.
Inhibits sweating, generates fluids – thirst with excess sweat, spontaneous sweating, night sweats, xiao ke.
Quiet the spirit, calm the heart – irritability, palpitations, insomnia due to blood deficiency or kidney and heart yin injury.
