Herb Pharm Wild Yam Tincture can work as an antispasmodic, especially to genito-urinary and gastro-intestinal systems. Also a diaphoretic (taken in hot water).*

Used for relief of nervous system irritation. Abdominal cramps, pain and tenderness; spastic colics (especially gallbladder colic); flatulent colic; spastic colitis; spasmodic pain in uterus, cervix or ovaries; menstrual cramps; after-pains of labor. Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Early stages of peritonitis.

Herb Pharm prepares their Wild Yam Tincture from the rhizome of Dioscorea villosa vines which are Certified Organically Grown especially for us in their native forest habitat in eastern Kentucky.

To assure optimal extraction of Wild Yam’s bioactive compounds, the rhizomes are hand-harvested only in late autumn, are carefully shade-dried, and are then thoroughly extracted.

Wild Yam Tincture is extracted in small batches with Certified Organic cane alcohol to maintain the balance of phytochemicals as they exist in the plant. Herb Pharm assures the herb identity via macroscopic and organoleptic analysis, then they confirm it through methods such as HPTLC fingerprinting specific to each herb. Herb Pharm liquid extracts are easily dispensed, taken in liquid form and added to water or other liquid.
