Chinese Bulk Herbs – Chinese Mint (Bo He)
Chinese Mint (Bo He) is used for diarrhea and painful menstruation. It is also used as an astringent and stimulant. It is mixed with other herbs either to mask the taste of a bitter herb or will help in the formula for fevers, headaches, and cough.
Clinical Use (Chinese):
Bo He is used to expel wind heat in the head from fevers, headaches, coughs, and sore throats. It will also quicken the healing of skin rashes and Chinese mint helps with qi stagnation with emotional issues, PMS, a pressure in the chest and sides.

Properties:
Pungent in flavor, cool in property, acts on the Liver and Lung channels.
Cautions:
Nursing mothers should not use as it will cause insufficient lactation. Avoid use in patients who sweat easily or with a yin deficiency. Do not decoct for long period of time — Chinese Mint should be added after all other healing herbs have been decocted.
