Chinese Bulk Herbs – Lablab Bean (Bian Dou)
Lablab or Bian Dou are used to stimulate gastric activities, thirst in heat-stroke, rheumatic arthritis, sunstroke, as an antidote against fish and vegetable poisoning and to treat colic and cholera.
The flowers will increase menstrual flow and treat inflammation of the uterus. Hyacinth beans have also been used to treat dysentery where the stool has blood and pus.
Clinical Use (Chinese):
Invigorates the Spleen to resolve Dampness. Clears summer heat – especially with diarrhea or vomiting, also vaginal discharge due to spleen deficiency.
