Herb Pharm Prickly Ash Tincture is a stimulating alterative tonic to the nervous and circulatory systems (but does not excite nor agitate). Enhances secretions and general metabolism. Stimulates flow of saliva and digestive juices, increases appetite and enhances digestion; carminative. Enhances immune system function; antirheumatic. Diaphoretic.

Prickly ash can help with all conditions of marked atony and deficient secretions; torpor and catarrh of mucous membranes; chronic dyspepsia and catarrhal gastritis; flatulent colic. Sluggish blood and lymphatic circulation; cold skin and extremities; intermittent claudication and Raynaud’s syndrome. Alterative in skin diseases (e.g., eczema, psoriasis). Weak nerve force. Herb Pharm prepares their Prickly Ash Extract from the bark of Zanthoxylum clava-herculis trees which are Custom Wildcrafted™ in their natural wild habitat. To assure optimal extraction of Prickly Ash’s bioactive compounds, the bark is hand-harvested only in the autumn, is carefully shade-dried, and is then thoroughly extracted.

Prickly ash is extracted in small batches with Certified Organic cane alcohol to maintain the balance of phytochemicals as they exist in the plant. Herb Pharm assures the herb identity via macroscopic and organoleptic analysis, then they confirm it through methods such as HPTLC fingerprinting specific to each herb.
